The time has come for us to go back into the studio, and we're ready to record a full lenght record! We're all really excited about it. We've been writing a lot of new material over the past few months, and have been playing a ton of shows. We've begun to demo out the new tracks as well and have some cool stuff we just can't wait to share. It's been a lot of fun, but we still have quite a bit of work to do. We launched a kickstarter to help us fund the recording process, as we want to produce the best possible record we can. Check out our Kickstarter page for more info. When you donate you will get a demo recording of 'Twenty Six', one of the new tracks of the album. We'll keep you updated with the process, thanks for your support!
Happy New Year friends! We've all been reflecting on how amazing 2011 was, and we're optimistic and excited about what 2012 has in store. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the Holiday Benefit Show we played at Birdsall House, our expectations were exceeded, thank you for making the event a huge success. We are happy to announce that we raised over $500 for the Peekskill High School Music Department.
In other news, we decided to take a band trip out to Los Angeles to see some friends and play a show or two. We have a show booked at The Hotel Cafe on Jan 12th, and hopefully will have one more to announce. We can't wait to get out there, soak up some sun and play some music. Hope to see some of you there!
We've added lyrics for all the songs on the EP to the Music Page check em out, sing along, enjoy. We are happy to announce that we are now offering our t-shirts for sale online. We have 3 colors in various sizes, unfortunately we are out of most L and XL sizes. Please check out our Merch Page to make a purchase.
Note: We pre-wear all of our merch so that when you get it you can smell it, and know its authentic This Old Ghost merch. You're extra lucky if you got one that Brendan wore.
We've also got a special show coming up on November 18th at Spike Hill in Brooklyn NY. We would love to see you there!
Our very own Ian McGuinness just started a blog entitled Cartography in which he will document our journey as a band."It isn't about declaring a goal and a destination and hoping that we as a band make the best decisions in order to achieve that goal. It is about documenting the experiences we have along the way. It is about the people we meet, the personal challenges we overcome, the friends and family we grow closer and further apart from and the simple joy we get from playing music together."
We've also added some news shows, check it!
Shout out to Forman for having us come out to Nyack to play, those guys are amazing, be sure to check them out. We also want to thank everyone who came out to our show at Spike Hill Saturday night, we had a blast, and also, everyone who came down to the Peekskill Brewery on Sunday, always a good time! Be sure to come out to their 3rd Annual Birthday Bash on October 15th, we'll be hanging out and playing some tunes! We are currently on a compilation put out by Littlest Sounds its free, and there is some great music on there. Finally, we've added some new photos to the Media page, and will be adding some new shows soon.
We want to thank everyone who came out Saturday night to the record release show, despite the rain. We all had a blast, and it was great to see so many friends. We have a show this Thursday at Birdsall House in Peekskill, and hope to see you there! The awesome Indie music site Shut Your Fucking Face and Listen is featuring us as the 'Bandcamp Artist of the Week', we are honored to be on such a rad music site, check it out!
We are pleased to announce the release of our first EP 'Island of Violent Lovers'. It's free to download here. We put a lot of hard work into this record and hope you enjoy it. We want to thank any and everyone who helped in the production of the record. Special thanks to Eliot Gellar, Greg Dunn, and all of the fans who supported us on Kickstarter.
We're all up on the interwebs. This shit is fresh, so check back soon for some more updates. We'll be ripe in a week or two.
